FYI Series – Mental Health Matters: Reducing Stigma & Promoting Mental Wellness

presented by Jetaun Bailey, LPC-S, CSC
May is recognized as National Mental Health Awareness Month in the United States, a time dedicated to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and promoting mental wellness across communities.
From 10am – 11:30am, Dr. Bailey will be set up in the library with books, informational resources, and small giveaways that patrons can take with them—items that support reflection, coping, and overall wellness.
At noon, she will lead a discussion in the Community Room focused on mental health awareness. This will include sharing accessible and relevant statistics related to common mental health concerns, while also creating space for open dialogue. The information will be presented in a way that feels relatable and grounded—allowing participants to connect the data to real-life experiences, ask questions, and engage in meaningful conversation.
All adults are welcome to this free program.
