About Decatur Public Library

Decatur Public Library strives to provide equitable access to information that meets the educational, cultural, and recreational needs and interests of our patrons.  We do this by lending print books, kits, audiobooks, and DVDs to our cardholders, as well as providing a robust digital collection.  We are a space for our community to spend time in, study in, read in, or meet in.  We are a presence in the community, with our Outreach team often attending events outside the library building.  We host programs, author events, story times and early literacy programs.  Whether you need information, education or entertainment, we hope you’ll begin here.

The library is YOUR community resource and you can support it best by using its services.  Visit our Friends’ page to learn about book donation and the Friends’ Used Book Sale Room.  Visit our Foundation’s page to make a tax-deductible, monetary donation or learn about legacy giving.  Thank you!
