Be a Field Biologist

December 19 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Interested in learning about field biology techniques like crane counting, bird identification, recording leg bands, and using radio telemetry equipment?
This is the program for you! There will be a slideshow with data sheet to record observations and an activity/demonstration of the tracking equipment to get everyone involved.
Participants can learn about the beautiful birds that call Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge and Decatur home during the winter months.

Presenter Travis Roddy is an Outreach Assistant for the International Crane Foundation.  She is a Huntsville, AL native and attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham for both her BA in Theatre and her BS in Biology.  She joined the International Crane Foundation in September and is excited to spend this season connecting with members of the community about her passion and support for Whooping Cranes here in Alabama!

This free program is for older children and adults.
