The Alabama Room is located on the Mezzanine Level. It contains a wide range of resources pertaining to local history and genealogy, as well as rare and archival items that have been donated to us over the years. Items in the Alabama Room are not available for check out but can be used for research within the library.

While we have the Decatur Daily on microfilm, it is not indexed and is only searchable by date. To search the Decatur Daily by topic (for the last 10 years only), go to our NewsBank service. We do also maintain a clipping file in Information Services. Each day, we clip the Decatur Daily and organize the articles by subject, in relation to the city of Decatur and Morgan County. For a list of subjects or look at any of the files, check with a member of the Information Services Staff.
